MBN have partnered exclusively with a hugely innovative marketing organisation, who are expanding their data capability in Scotland and are looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to work with their Engineering squads.

The unique element of this business is that they leverage Geospatial data to provide personalised advertising, based on users’ location & buying trends. This means that they ingest huge volumes of data and are looking to re-structure their GCP platform to ensure cleaner and more scalable data flows, to ensure quality analytics are being produced.

The DevOps Engineer will play a crucial role in re-structuring the platform, implementing good practice with regards to containerisation, infrastructure-as-code, Linux administration, and automation of processes. You will support and be supported by the engineers around you, as well as the Senior DevOps Engineer – and will have plenty of opportunity to develop new skills on the job whilst utilising the experience you already have.

    Tech & Skills

    • Experience working as a DevOps/Cloud Engineer within a cloud environment (preferably GCP but AWS is also good)
    • Hands-on experience in automation and infrastructure inflation for scale-out, scale-up, and data lifecycle management.
    • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, using GCP Deployment Manager, Terraform, Ansible or other similar tools.
    • Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, Docker, and/or serverless technology.
    • Hands-on experience using CI/CD Tools - Jenkins, Artifactory, etc
    • Linux system administration experience
    • Experience with monitoring solutions Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
    • Skills with Python or Bash would also be useful for this role

You will be based remotely, however there is an office in Edinburgh that is used for monthly team meetings or for working if team members want to come in. Apply here or message Euan Vance on LinkedIn for more info about this fantastic opportunity.
