    Head of Data Development

Up to £105,000 + bonus & excellent benefits

MBN’s client, a high-end Data Solutions business, are currently going through one of the most important data expansions in their history. They require a Head of Data Development to be the driving force behind the client modernisation programme, shaping strategy and supporting delivery to produce highest quality data migration solutions.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about Data Engineering, particularly within cloud environments. You’ll lead squads of around 25-30 Engineers with varying responsibilities, through the data lifecycle, from start to finish and will act as strategist, motivator, and mentor. Stakeholder management is key to manage expectations while keeping the team performance up and morale strong in the fast-paced environment. The team have just acquired a new squad of 10, which will support in these AWS & GCP modernisation projects – your role will be to lead, steer the ship, and advise the team what great practice looks like.

Outside of the data team, you’ll partner with the Director of Data to look at methods of improving performance & innovation across the function. This is more of a shoulder-to-shoulder partnership than top down hierarchy and will allow you many freedoms to lead in the way you know best.

    Tech and skills:

    • Strong experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP but AWS and Azure also considered
    • Experience of managing at enterprise level within a data environment
    • Solid understanding of what your team are doing on a day-to-day basis from a hands-on perspective
    • Bring a positive aura to the function, energising and motivating those around you (be a role model)
    • Experience of planning and delivering large scale data projects, understanding budgets and timescales
    • Talent development – be able to identify potential, as well as areas that need more attention
