    Senior Data Engineer – Python - Investment – London - £90k

    Are you a Data Engineer with a solid understanding of algorithms and Data Structures?

    Would you like to help us develop greenfield AI products to be used in the finance sector?

    Who will I be joining?

    We’re a global Finance & Insurance company with over 50,000 people across the globe and we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our innovation team to work with Researchers, Engineers and Scientists across 4 different product areas to build AI/Machine Learning products for our users.

    What should my background look like?

    You’ll be a creative Data Engineer who has built distributed and scalable Data pipelines; written and optimized SQL queries; scripted in Python and have processed/manipulated data and worked on Data quality. You’ll be confident to mentor junior members in the team 

    What skills should I have?

    Must have

    • Minimum 3 years coding experience in Python
    • SQL
    • Cloud (AWS preferred)
    • Experience with Airflow

     

    Great to have

    • If you’ve engineered features for Machine Learning Applications
    • Any experience within financial industry
    • Experience with Data migration frameworks
    • Built Streaming pipelines (Kafa, Kinesis)
    • Ingested Data from the web
    • Spark

     

    Who will I work with?

    You’d be based in our London office at the heart of the financial district in the City of London. Working within the innovative R&D team of 25 (and growing) highly talented Engineers (data and Machine Learning), Data Scientists (applied and research) and designers. These include alumni from some of the world’s top universities, published Scientists in renowned peer review journals such as JMLR, TMAPI and IJCV and conferences such as NIPS, ICML and EMNLP.

     

    What’s on offer?

    There’s a generous base salary of up to £90k on offer including car allowance, as well as bonus, flexible working and the usual benefits you’d expect from a multinational company such as healthcare, medical insurance etc.
