    Software Engineering Manager

    Edinburgh (opportunities available for remote working options, however there is an expectation to be able to attend the office as and when required).

    Up to £75,000 + benefits

     

    Brand new opportunity to join a highly successful Engineering team with a fast-growing organisation based in Edinburgh. Due to their successes over the last year, they are expanding the team and are looking to bring in an experienced Engineering Manager/Lead.

     

    The Software Engineering Manager will have responsibility across multiple squads of Engineers, both onshore and offshore, with 5 direct reports. Within the role there will be responsibility for growing and developing their processes and mentoring engineers, building and reinforcing the culture within the team and scaling and maintaining their Data Platform in line with growth opportunities.

     

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Developing and Shaping the roadmap of their Data Platform in a manner that will allow the business to scale. Lead the development squads to through this process to deliver the roadmap.
    • Manage and maintain the Data Platform, working through and resolving any issues that appear.
    • Actively contribute towards Architectural discussions and strategy.

     

    Role requirements:

    • Experience managing Software Engineering squads/teams.
    • Experience working within the ecommerce sector or experience working on a large scale Data Platform.
    • A background working as a Software Engineer delivering complex technical solutions. Previous experience programming with Java or JavaScript would be highly beneficial.
    • A strong understanding/experience level of Agile Software Development.
    • IT Service Management experience (Incident Management, Service Restoration etc,)
    • Experience working within a Cloud Environment.
