Decision Science Manager – Birmingham

£50,000 – £60,000 + 10% Bonus & Comprehensive Package

MBN are exclusively partnering with a globally recognised UK brand to appoint a Decision Science Manager to lead a team of Junior Data Scientists and Statistical Modelling Analysts. The business are currently working on one of the largest ever infrastructure programmes which will tremendously impact the way in which millions of people live their lives and interact with technology.

This role will see you lead, develop and challenge a maturing team who are building predictive models to help the business better determine their operational performance. The role holder will have experience managing teams in the analytics space, be able to influence at a senior level and have a solid understanding of statistical analysis techniques being able to provide practical application through their knowledge.

What you’ll do and who you are:

  • Your team will be responsible for building and running complex statistical and operational research models that enable you to make decisions and influence key stakeholders. The insight will directly influence service performance, revenue, or mitigate risks such regulatory risk.
  • You will manage a specialist team of data scientists who will be adept at using statistical and modelling techniques such as (multi-variate regression, clustering, sampling, etc) and (Monte-Carlo modelling, Decision Trees, etc). It is beneficial if you have a good knowledge of these techniques to support and challenge the team to ensure true value is being realised.
  • You will be tasked with setting the technical direction (advising on the implementation of new models/techniques or by testing their capability) and overall strategy for the decision science function.
  • You will have previous leadership experience in the analytics space, have good working knowledge of statistical analysis, be able to influence at a senior level and communicate complex ideas in a straightforward manner.

Please note the business offer excellent flexible working and home working options. They have offices in most major cities in the UK which you can be based from including but not limited to Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Cardiff, London, Bristol, Glasgow etc however you must be willing to travel to London on an occasional basis (Expenses will be paid for this).
