We would like to thank those of you who attended and participated in the second of our Big Data Networking and Briefing events at Home House, London. The evening focused on releasing the results of our Big Data Survey, undertaken earlier this year. We were proud to be joined by two industry veterans who offered their own perspectives on the results but more importantly, their take on the state of Big Data in everyday practical use in big business. So, what was the purpose of our survey this year? Well, as many of you will already know, we are a leading provider of search, selection and recruitment services for key Big Data staff and in keeping with our development of thought leadership, perspectives on industry needs and the general direction of travel for data scientists, insight analysts and econometricians, we wanted to assemble findings to try and understand a little more about the extent of the hype and the grounding of reality for people operating in this space.
The survey/event was not just for us. We wanted to undertake the survey so we could share the results and findings with friends and colleagues from our own network. If you would like to receive a copy of the results and attend future such events then please drop us a line.
MBN Non-Executive Director Paul Forrest pulled together our survey, analysed the findings and developed our conclusions. His experience in the areas of Big Data and Insight is grounded firmly in his work with many of these businesses who for some, were early adopters of such techniques and technologies. Paul has worked with large retailers such as Tesco and Walmart at the very earliest days of their data enablement.
