At MBN, we are always looking for opportunities to build global relationships particularly in the sectors we specialise in, namely Information Technology, Analytics and Digital. As a result, we were thrilled to be invited along to a business event alongside other Scottish CEOs and business owners at FMC Technologies in Dunfermline for a tour of the facilities. Additionally, the event also featured a round table discussion with Ambassador Matthew Barzun, U.S Ambassador to the UK.
FMC Technologies occupies more than 213,000 square feet and is responsible for the design and manufacturing of subsea trees, wellhead systems and associated equipment. The tour included a walk around of the dedicated project management and engineering teams on-site. The facility includes a machine shop equipped with the latest in machine tool technology, a weld shop with on-site stress relieving facilities and an assembly and test department with up to 60-ton crane capabilities, a site integration test area, six booths for component testing and two gas testing pits.
Following the tour, the round table discussion with Ambassador Barzun focused on the business climate in Scotland and the future of U.S – Scotland business links. As a global company head quartered locally in Glasgow, MBN is constantly building international links to support the growth of our brand. With that in mind, we look forward to attending yet another event featuring Ambassador Barzun’s second in command, Elizabeth Dibble, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy London, , for a business breakfast round table at Strathclyde University later in the week.
