On Tuesday 28th April, MBN Solutions partnered with DataIQ on the Edinburgh leg of their Customer Trust Tour around the UK.  The Trust Tour is taking place across three locations; Edinburgh, Leeds and London respectively and took the form of a breakfast briefing at the University of Edinburgh Business School.  MBN Chairman, Paul Forrest, was asked to Chair the briefing and was joined by industry experts; Carolyn Stebbings, Executive Managing Partner Data at RAPP, Valerie Surgenor, Partner at MacRoberts LLP, James Tuplin, Cyber & Data Security at QBE Insurance Group and Christine Andrews, Managing Director at DataIQ Consulting.

One of the key themes which was revisited frequently throughout the session was that trust with customers and colleagues is increasingly recognised as the key component for building a successful organisation over the long term.  In any relationship, trust is critical.  Customers have expectations and also boundaries which companies need to understand, respect and value.  With significant changes about to take place in data protection laws, Valerie Surgenor was able to give a brief overview on these updates, while James Tuplin and Christine Andrews proposed solutions to potential data breaches and cyber crime.  The morning concluded with a panel Q&A session which encouraged discussion and debate.
