The challenge of tempting people away from Edinburgh’s annual Festival was always going to be a tough one. Despite the fear of an empty auditorium, the combined, stellar efforts of the MBN and Standard Life event teams, ensured that some 80 plus business, data, technology and marketing professionals enjoyed an evening of networking, presentations and insight.

MBN joined Standard Life at their flagship building with stunning castle views in Edinburgh to educate, entertain and engage a keen audience of professionals from a variety of different sectors.

Stephen Ingledew, Standard Life’s Managing Director for Customer & Marketing kicked off the evening by introducing the subject matter and the the importance of customer insight and data to Standard Life.

Handing over to MBN’s Chairman, Paul Forrest, saw the event deepen the discussion into the challenges and opportunities for organisations seeking to understand the customer journey, customer experience and the availability of actionable insight.  Paul worked through case studies and experience from the work MBN perform with their clients in the areas of Big Data, Data Science and Insight and Analytics.

The evening progressed when Mary Harper, Standard Life’s Head of Customer & Digital Marketing took us through the specific process and programme they have embarked upon to drive real value, deliver enhanced customer experience and to disrupt their competitors through the use of customer centric data and insight.

To draw the evening to a close, a panel session where our speakers were joined by additional team members from Standard Life’s cross functional customer team to answer questions and share their thoughts and experience of data empowered business transformation.
