We would like to take this opportunity to thank our employees, clients, candidates and attendees of our events for their ongoing support throughout 2017. Our continuous growth and success would not have been possible without you.

Below are our 2017 highlights!

MBN Team Grows
As a leading global provider of people solutions, MBN is only as good as our people. Every day, we play a vital role in helping client organisations to identify the very best people to help them to create value and grow with confidence.  One characteristic in common with all of the organisations we work with is that they have very high expectations of our consultants. As part of an ongoing growth strategy, we respond by recruiting truly outstanding people

Throughout 2017, MBN have added a number of members to the team.
All new members have shown outstanding efforts and determination and surpassed all expectations. We look forward to their continuous contribution throughout 2017.

MBN prides itself with being at the forefront of recruitment services for Data Science, Insight and Analytics and related Technology skills. Key to our success and growth in this important sector has been the development of world class thought leadership and creation of events to allow skilled practitioners and business leaders to hear from leading global professionals and to network with like minded people. Over time, these events have grown in stature and significance.

MBN hosted a number of events - all different in scale and audience.

Data Talent Scotland 17
How do you improve upon an inaugural event that brought together around 150 postgraduate data science students, 200 data enthusiasts, 11 universities and 50 businesses from across Scotland?
What is it that they say? You go big or you go home…….?
Well, we went very much BIGGER this year.

You take those figures above and you add to them – in some cases you double them.

You add the likes of Sainsbury’s Bank, The Scottish Government, Unicef, SAS, National Health Service, Aquila Insight and Deloitte to the mix, sprinkle in a little bit of Formula One insight and you open the doors of Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.
Then, you let the magic happen.

Hot on the heels of the ScotChain16 success and with many participants of the event pressing for more, IBM hosted MBN at their central London office to put on a similar event to help in excess of 150 executives to understand more about the benefits of Blockchain.
Peter Bidewell, the Chief Marketing Officer at Applied Blockchain and one of the events key speakers at CityChain17, said “It’s clear that Blockchain is now moving from conceptualisation to implementation across many industries. With this change, the focus is shifting from the theoretical capabilities of the technology to a more pragmatic approach to filling the gaps in the underlying platforms in areas such as security, privacy and interoperability.”

Data Scientist 2.0: Talent Driven Innovation
Wednesday 13th September saw The Data Lab and MBN Solutions host a landmark event at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. Dynamic by name the venue hosted over 250 delegates who were dynamic by nature. The day saw a deep focus on the requirements for the next generation of data scientists… the new data elite or as they have come to be known, Data Scientists 2.0.

With excellent presentations, panel sessions and workshops throughout the day, the event was also used to celebrate the quality of the MSc data scientists placed with Scottish businesses on behalf of The Data Lab by MBN. An activity to be repeated again this year with even more funded places available from The Data Lab, the event served a useful purpose providing insight and guidance on how industry made the best of the skills on offer.

ScotChain16 last year saw Edinburgh host a hugely successful event attended by over 200 leading global Blockchain experts and business leaders debating and challenging the hype, the reality and ultimately, the best use cases.

12months on, the conversation around Blockchain has rapidly changed. We’re only now starting to understand this technology’s real, practical and full potential, and this means that there is still much to discover and explore.

The buzz we experienced surrounding Blockchain technology has started to take a different tone and it is this different tone that ScotChain17 explored.
