About the role

Lead Data & AI Architect – Enterprise Platforms & Strategy

Edinburgh / Glasgow / North West – Hybrid 2/3 split

If you’ve designed enterprise data platforms that actually drive business outcomes, not just implemented tools, this will interest you

You’ll be operating at strategic level, shaping how Data & AI is architected across a large, regulated UK organisation. This is about ownership, governance and long-term capability, not isolated use cases

You’ll be responsible for aligning platform architecture to business strategy, enabling advanced analytics, AI and decisioning in a way that is scalable, governed and commercially valuable

What you’ll actually be responsible for:

• Owning enterprise Data & AI platform architecture aligned to a group-wide strategy
• Defining reference architectures across Data Management, Analytics, AI and Decisioning
• Designing Azure-based data platforms including Databricks, Fabric or Snowflake environments
• Leading customer master data and party-based MDM architecture
• Architecting predictive AI and GenAI solutions including RAG frameworks and next best action models
• Setting standards for event-driven architecture, API integration and decisioning engines
• Governing architecture through formal review boards and enterprise frameworks such as TOGAF
• Leading multi-vendor programmes and embedded architecture teams
• Educating senior stakeholders on data literacy and AI capability
