AI Infrastructure Engineer – AGI – Privacy AI – Remote up to £200k

We’re an under 2-year-old VC-backed startup with $30m funding, working on state-of-the-art infrastructure for privacy-preserving and secure AI inference at scale. Our mission is to enable AI systems that are not only powerful but also safe, secure, and trusted. You’ll be joining a team building the backbone of distributed, agentic AI, where security and scalability come first.About you
You’ll be an experienced infrastructure engineer who has taken AI systems from experiment to production, capable of building robust environments across cloud and on-premise GPU clusters. You’re comfortable working in a fast-moving startup, thrive in ambiguity, and can translate complex infrastructure requirements into secure, reliable systems.What we are looking for is someone with:
- Strong background managing AI infrastructure across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Hands-on experience with bare-metal GPUs (training and inference clusters using tools such as Slurm, Kubernetes, or Ray, and direct cloud GPU configuration)
- Expertise in secure networking between cloud instances across multiple platforms and regions (VPC peering, service mesh such as Istio, VPN tunnelling, or cross-cloud interconnects)
- Solid coding skills in Python, with experience managing Kubernetes clusters and containerised workloads (Docker)
- Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or Pulumi).E xperience with supporting tools like Ansible or Helm for managing deployments would be a plus
Nice to have:
- Experience working with Trusted Execution Environments (Intel SGX, TDX, AMD SEV, AWS Nitro)
- Understanding of cryptographic protocols and secure key management
- Knowledge of distributed systems (queues such as NATS or RabbitMQ, databases, workflow engines)

This role is fully remote, with the core team based in San Francisco.
There’s a salary of up to £200k plus equity, along with typical startup perks.Please note: You must be eligible to work in the UK, US, or EU to be considered.
